In-Person Care
What is In-Person Care?
ARTARx is committed to providing personalized, in-person care to all of our patients. Whether it’s clinical services, vaccination, travel consultation, annual care plan review, or counseling on a new medication, our team is ready to serve you and ensure you feel informed and empowered when it comes to your medication plan. Having regular, in-person care allows our pharmacists to offer the complete array of clinical services to support the health goals of everyone who comes in. This includes prescription adjustments or extensions that wouldn't be possible otherwise.
It can be intimidating to have serious, frank, or sometimes difficult conversations about your health, but having a personalized relationship with your pharmacist helps to build trust and makes those conversations easier. When we know you better, we can tailor our advice to fit your specific needs, monitor your ongoing treatment plans, and ensure your needs are being supported with the most up-to-date health information and resources. How do you build and maintain that personalized relationship? It comes through face-to-face, in-person care.

How to get started with In-Person Care
It’s as easy as making an appointment or dropping in to your ARTARx Pharmacy! You can pair this first visit with a prescription transfer if you are a new patient, or with a new prescription if you have been using ARTARx for a while. But you don’t need an excuse to come in, you are welcome to visit any time to ask about what in-person care would look like for you.
When is Virtual Care appropriate?
Virtual care may be suitable as an occasional support to regular in-person care. On occasions where extreme weather, mobility issues, lack of transportation, or other factors prevent you from visiting the pharmacy in person, virtual care may be an option. Potential instances of virtual care require assessment by a pharmacist to ensure clinical appropriateness and eligibility based on the Standards of Practice for pharmacies in Alberta.
ARTARx is equipped to provide virtual care through phone or video conferencing technologies. If you feel unsafe or unable to make the trip to see your pharmacist in person, give us a call and we are happy to discuss further.
